The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has created a new Potiskum LGA with improved management departments following the restructuring and revitalisation of all departments of the local government area.
Since his arrival as the executive chairman of the local government, he has announced his intention to transform the local government by renovating neglected departments and transferring all government assets illegally acquired from people to the local government treasury.
Hon. Salisu Muktari has succeeded in fulfilling these resolutions because under his administration, many government departments, including those of business sectors, have undergone transformation by restructuring and revitalising many government assets to transform the local government into a new Potiskum with a good management system in every aspect.
The chairman has rehabilitated several ministries and departments and consolidated other ministries and departments into one place and given them offices in the old Potiskum LGA secretariat to continue their work in an orderly manner.
The chairman of the LGA has also renovated the local government veterinary hospital, which was previously abandoned and turned into a shelter for alcoholics and a place to dump garbage, faeces, and urine, which pollutes the environment and pollutes the air the community breathes.
He is rehabilitating the Potiskum LGA Government Lodge, which was abandoned for many years, in order to reduce the hardship and cost of the local government to accommodate visitors in order to prove his commitment to safeguarding the public's property and providing them with quality in the right areas.
He has rehabilitated the Mopol Barracks along Damaturu Road in Potiskum LGA to strengthen security, improve peace, and provide a safe working environment for Mopol officers, and he has also beautified the area with modern offices, efficient electricity and water supply.
He renovated the abattoir of Potiskum Local Government Area to boost business and improve the buying and selling of meat and transformed the butchery into a modern, efficient, organised, and unique institution across Yobe State.
He renovated the LEA and provided effective channels for their complaints to improve the education sector by providing them with educational and financial support to strengthen education across Potiskum Local Government Area.
He provided several roads and water channels to facilitate transportation and improve the lives of travellers and commuters in the city.
He also revived the health sector by monitoring health workers and giving them direct contact, encouragement, and full support in carrying out their duties.
Now there is no place that does not work 24/7 in these areas to improve the lives of the people of Potiskum Local Government Area.
