Hon. Salisu Muktari chaired task force meeting on NIPDs... assured continued support to the PHC Board

The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, chaired the Task Force Meeting on National Immunization Program Desks (NIPDs) and assured continued support to the Potiskum LGA PHC Board.

The meeting was held in preparation for the commencement of the eight-day vaccination campaign, which will be conducted as a two-day in-a-row campaign, a four-day door-to-door campaign, and two days of mop-up.

During the meeting, Potiskum Local Government Primary Healthcare Coordinator Abdulrahman Musa confirmed that:

"We are grateful to the honorable chairman for the support he has given us to ensure the well-being of our staff and to provide us with assistance whenever we need it.

"We are achieving great success that shows that we are on the path to achieving the desired achievements in the health sector not only in Yobe State but in Nigeria as a whole because even last month our local government managed to vaccinate 300,398 children.

"These over three hundred thousand children vaccinated under the 10 districts and wards in Potiskum Local Government are all under the age of 5, and we have a goal of achieving 0% tolerance under 5-year-old children in our next round." He said

The meeting was attended by WHO representatives, traditional rulers, district heads, and other dignitaries, who all commended the honorable chairman for his commitment to giving priority to health in Potiskum Local Government Area.

"I have heard all the needs and the achievements you have made in our health sector. I am ready to continue to give you my maximum cooperation and contribution to improve your work.

"I beg your honor to continue to be patient and to draw our attention wherever you think our attention should be, so that it is good for us to work hard to improve the lives of the good people of our local government, especially in the health sector." Said Hon. Salisu Muktari

WHO representatives, the traditional rulers, and others commended him for providing quality ice storage facilities at the cool store of the LGA PHC board, which is an initiative that has directly improved their work.
