The executive chairman of Potiskum local government area Hon. Salisu Muktari has provided freezers and medicines for children and pregnant women to develop primary health care activities in Potiskum local government area.
This effort follows the chairman's effort to provide an equal and good healthcare system to the good people of Potiskum local government area.
The chairman also confirmed that he will help a lot in establishing a good management system in the health sector, starting with the provision of freezers to store medicines that are threatened by heat with fear of their damage.
Then the executive chairman took steps to improve the provision of medicines for young children and pregnant women in order to reduce the burden and traffic during treatment or childbirth at every level in the local government area.
"I am giving you the opportunity to come to me directly with the right suggestions to develop or bring sustainable development to the health sector in this local government.
"We are ready as the leaders of the local government council to provide any system that will make it easier for our people in terms of health and social welfare.
"We have given you the opportunity to send your complaints or ask for support directly to us whenever needed, and I assure you that we will do everything possible to ensure that there is a modern system for managing the primary healthcare activities of our local government." The chairman also added that we are ready to consult experts in the health sector to get advice that will help greatly in the development of health care for our people.
The executive chairman also created and repaired vehicles for transporting patients at the first-level health centre to provide a good transportation system to the patients across Potiskum LGA.
