The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Area, Hon. Salisu Mukhtari has revived the long abandoned veterinary clinic in Potiskum local government area of Yobe state. The renovation and revival of the veterinary clinic is aimed at providing quality health care service to animal husbandry for the interest and benefit of the people of Potiskum local government area. The veterinary clinic has been revived with modern equipment and is expected to provide a good management system.
The revival of the abandoned local government infrastructure is one of the most important things that Hon. Salisu Mukhtari is a key for developing the economy, providing ways for self-reliance, social improvement, and it will introduce a system that will help greatly in improving the life of the people.
The rehabilitation of the veterinary clinic in Potiskum local government will help to improve animal husbandry, improved self-reliance, and provide easy care for animals in Potiskum local government area, Mal. Usman Daneji, a resident of Yindiski area in Potiskum local government area said.
"We are solidly behind the Chairman of Potiskum Local Government, Hon. Salisu Mukhtari, and we wish him the best of luck, because under his administration, the Potiskum local government area has experienced so many infrastructural developments.
"Hon. Salisu Mukhtari has revived so many neglected government properties. Those in the past have become like refuse dump centres, and some of them are now obsolete. Many people have neglected them because of their dilapidated condition.
"It is not a small task to revive the assets of the local government that have been damaged because their revival will provide jobs, economic development, and provide a sufficient management system in the areas that have been revived", Daneji assured.
Also, the residents near the veterinary clinic have testified that they are now out of the threat of security and violence. They therefore said that the revival of the veterinary clinic is like driving out threats, destruction and social pollution.
"Our fears have now been wiped out, and the security threats that we have been facing for many years as a result of this veterinary clinic is now a thing of the past. Before the coming of Hon. Salisu Mukhtari, the veterinary clinic was turned into a bar where drug addicts come to hide and commit all sorts of irresponsible acts and other things.
"The recovery has made our minds calm and peaceful because there is no more threat to our lives, and no one can hide to commit something bad since the hospital is now working 24 hours daily", Malam Habibu added.
