His Pride And Joy

Drop, she came back,
Another night, another pay,
No longer under authority,
Being held accountable blew over her head,
Let her alone in peace,
Stung, snobbery washed all over,
Smashing her decency to pieces,
Critics, mocking behind curved hands.
A baby with a baby in girl form she was,
Known to slander, comrade of the fallen,
Out of reach from them holier than thou,
The stainless steel of the clueless,
Thou art no longer righteous bunch,
Be gone; lest our young ones is corrupted,
Your stank stain stays stuck,
We want no part of you.
So she left, welcomed into a fold,
Like attract like the saying goes,
The girl’s voice silenced, with duels of words,
Mama no more so safety sold out,
She lived for love in shreds,
Shame wrapped talons around her heart,
Disgust spewed on her path,
She left, deserting the King of her heart.
He cares no more, her disgrace a divide,
Between them, but he calls still,
My pride and joy you are, my bride forever,
Ignore, He is like all the others,
His worship place habitation of cruelty,
Where was He, I was cast out,
His love found me not,
Leave her, let her alone in peace.
Drop, years later, met with a fellow pride and joy,
Led by way of the voice,
She stood on the threshold of sanctuary’s place,
Trepidation ran in rivulets drenching her palm,
Heart thumping, eyes downcast,
She fell on her knees before her King,
Her lips moving in fervent whispers,
“Daddy, I’m home”, she said.
