Is this not Agala? Kanaiza asked Mangurita as they sat at the back of the tent.

Agala was born and raised in Ivwari village in Migori County. He was a staunch believer since his childhood, very dedicated to the Church of Bretherens. As a result when he had just completed his fourth form examinations he was taken by the Church into evangelism to assist the pastor at Ivwari church. He got married to Vihenda and they were blessed with three children, one girl and two boys. The church then decided to sent Agala to Luanda Theological College in Vihiga County so that he would be in aposition to take over the church well. The whole of Ivwari village was happy to produce the first Pastor and their spirits were high.
Agala joined Luanda Theological College and was mong the top students in the diploma class. During his third year he went for an attachment in Iriavo diocese in Trans-Nzoia County where he was well received. During his three months stay at the Church he had built great relationships with the members there. He was known as Pastor Joseph Alama and not Agala as he was known back home. There was a beautiful girl Nekesa who fall in love with Pastor Joseph Alama and they kept on communicating as he went back to college to finish his studies.
Immediately after completing his studies Joseph Alama went to trans-Nzoia and never went back to Ivwari village. Word went round that he had been abducted on his way home, after long search without hope, everyone gave up as days passed to months and months to years. His wife Vihenda took over the responsibility of the family nurturing the three children who grew into responsible citizens as they cpmpleted their higher education and became successful. It was later thought that maybe something of the grass had eaten him although Vihenda was hopeful that one day she will see his husband alive.
In Trans-Nzoia Joseph Alama went and settled with Nekesa in Ijiri Village in Sabaoti. Nekesa's parents gave Joseph Alama land and house to stay. They planned for wedding and opened for him Jesus Fire Ministry which became very successful as people came from near and far in search of miracles. The lame walked, the blind saw, the sick were healed and Jesus fire was fire in Ijiri village.
Odembo was Mangurita's brother. Their father had settled in Ijiri village long ago when he was education officer in Kapenguria and so his family settled there. Mangyrita was married in Ivwari in Migori County some 800 kilometers away. Odembo had passed on and was a member of the Jesus Fire Ministries. Mangurita and Kanaiza had managed to reach there on the morning of the burial day due to travelling challenges. As they sat at the back of the family tent during the service they kept figuring out one man who seemed to be of higher status than others in the church. His figure seemed tp be in resemblance of someone they might have known but they could not figure out. When time came to welcome the church bishop everone went in awe, the man stood up declaring himself the only Bishop Joseph Alama of God, he welcomed his wife mama Nekesa and their four children amid jubiliation. Yes Joseph Alama the Bishop. The picture of recalling came into Kanaiza's mind and she asked Mangurita "Is this not Agala?" He was known as Joseph Agala back in Ivwari but now Joseph Alama was a contradictory name. Much research was to be conducted. After the burial, Malandi the first born to Odembo, the aunt to Mangurita revealed to them how Bishop Joseph Alama had come to that village.
When Mangurita and Kaniza went back to Ivwari they took the news with them but who could accept their report? The Church of Bretherens and the clan elders came together to verify the information. They counseled Vihenda who was by now an outstanding lady in the community and her children, the clan elders gave two elders and the church three elders together with Mangurita and Kanaiza and they set up to Ijiri village in Tranz-Nzoia County to witness the episode. They went to and attended the sunday service at Jesus Fire Ministries, the Church was full to the brim. Time came when visitors were recognized, and the Ivwari delegation rose up, Bishop Joseph Alama was shocked as he saw his wife Vihenda and now his grownup children and the delegation from Ivwari village. Commotion reigned the service and everything went the opposite direction of the service. Nekesa could not believe what she was seeing.
So Bishop Joseph Alama of Ijiri, the Joseph Agala of Ivwari was married.
