Governor Buni to construct Yobe Ltd, Modern Markets, five new Government Offices and rehabilitation of Alagarno Water Gate

The Yobe State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Hon. ( Dr.) Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN has approved the construction of the new Yobe Investment Office, Modern Markets in Machina, five Government Offices and rehabilitation of Alagarno water gate in Bade LGA.

The government approved and signed the construction of these important projects during the state executive council meeting held today, 30th, July, 2025 at the Yobe state government house, Damaturu.

The council initially approved the sum of N1,767,937,912.24 for the construction of five Government Offices, five Finance and Ease of Doing Business Boards and a Public Relations Board.

The council also approved the sum of N962,654,713.00 for the construction of a large office building for the Yobe Investment Corporation Ltd (Yobe Ltd.)

The council also approved the sum of N2,787,625,946.89 for the construction of a large modern market in Machina Town and an additional sum of N3,015,000,625.00 to meet the shortfall and to cover the additional cost of the modern market under construction in Geidam Town and an additional N3,986,900,017.00 for the completion of the modern market in Potiskum Town.

The council also approved the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the collapsed Alagarno Water Gate in Bade Local Government Area. The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Alagarno Water Gate will cost about N396,918,323.03 and the council signed the bill to commence the project immediately.

The council approved several bills including health, infrastructure, agriculture and job creation.
