Governor Buni Takes Steps to Strengthen Security by Expanding Joint Task Force Offices of "Operation Haba Maza"

The Yobe State Governor, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, FCIA, CON, COMN, after his consultation with the Security Council—"State Security Council"—has taken the decision to open the Joint Task Force Office of "Operation Haba Maza" in five local government areas of the state.

The step to establish and expand the operations of Operation "Haba Maza" is a step that will restore security, strengthen peace, and improve the lives of the good people of Yobe State as a whole.

The move follows the threat of a resurgence of Boko Haram insurgency in the northeastern region of Nigeria, where Yobe State is among the states that have faced the worst attacks and security threats from them in recent years.

The governor has taken major steps to protect the lives of the people and their properties; among the measures, he took the decision to close the weekly markets of Katarko, Buni-Yadi, and Kukareta to ensure the safety of the people and their properties.

The governor also yesterday made the decision to establish “Operation Haba Maza” centers in Potiskum, Nguru, Gashua, Geidam, and Buni-Yadi Local Government Areas.

The State Security Council approved the establishment of these new Operation Centers during a meeting chaired by the Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN, which also approved the decision to increase the number of personnel in the security forces to strengthen their work in ensuring the security of the people and their properties.

The decision shows how much the governor values the security of the good people of Yobe State.
