The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, has completed the construction of a large modern dairy farm with modern infrastructure for herdsmen in Jakusko local government area in of Yobe State.
This follows Governor Buni's efforts to stabilise the society, creating a good management system to ease herdsmen conflicts across the state.
The largest dairy farm consists of a primary school, a milk factory, a hospital, vocational training facilities, an electricity supply, a drinking water supply, 50 houses, 50 modern irrigation facilities, an animal feed factory, a road, and an animal health clinic.
The creation of this sector will help greatly to develop the economy, reduce the incidence of terrorist activities and provide better security for herdsmen and farmers across Yobe state.
Mal. Abubakar Babawuro, a herdsman in the area, testified that: "We have been encouraged to continue our business that we inherited from our parents and grandfathers, which is farming and breeding.
"Because this government has provided us with a modern dairy farm, the biggest joy is that now our children will have modern and religious education, a good health system, good and clean drinking water, and a well-stocked veterinary hospital with electricity under this modern dairy farm.
"We are using this opportunity to express our gratitude to the honourable governor, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni, for this great work; surely this great place will make many things easier for us and eliminate all the challenges we are facing in the field of agriculture and breeding." Babawuro the shepherd confirmed
Of course, Governor Buni is committed to the development and revival of agriculture and animal husbandry across Yobe state.
