The Yobe State Governor, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, has approved the permanent recruitment of 267 health workers to improve the health sector and create a sound management system.

This is in line with the governor’s commitment to create jobs, develop health services, and provide the people of Yobe State with skilled and modern medical professionals.

Out of 267 health workers to be recruited, 140 are from the students whose education was sponsored by the governor in India (Buni Scholars), who studied in different health fields and gained special and modern health skills and experience.

Among the students who were paid by the Governor to study abroad (Buni Scholars) who were able to become permanent employees, they gained expertise in the following areas: 43 BSc Nursing, 43 BSc Pharmacy, 22 BSc Laboratory Science, 24 BSc Radiology, 7 BSc Optometry, and 1 BSc Public Health.

Also, the addition of ​​​​127 volunteers is from various health centres of the state, as the governor said that 127 volunteers should be recruited as permanent employees.

The governor gave orders to recruit volunteers because of their skills and experience in dealing with patients and knowledge of working equipment after they have completed their studies earlier.

Those selected under (Buni Scholars) are placed on the CONHESS 8 level; also, the volunteers is placed at CONHESS 6/2 as governor ordered.

Governor Buni is committed to improving health and education through the recruitment of new staff in both sectors.
