... A vision that will capture attention and showcase the state's rich history and prosperity.

The executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN has committed to transforming and re-design all Round-abouts in Damaturu with a vision that will showcase the state's rich history, culture and business-friendly landmarks.

It will also serve as a showcase for the state's rich heritage and will showcase the rich culture and ethnicities that have influenced and strengthened Damaturu, which will play a vital role in attracting investors.

Yobe State, since its establishment over thirty years ago, has never seen the benefits of modern infrastructure projects that have transformed the state like this.

After the construction of the fly-over and underpass bridge, the governor also took the initiative to showcase the culture and history of Yobe State through signs and murals in the city that reflect the number of local government areas, culture and history.

Here are the features of the roundabout renovations:

1. Potiskum Road Roundabout Modern design featuring symbols and maps of the 17 local government areas of Yobe State from the three political zones of the state.

2. Gashua Road Roundabout Modern design featuring an airplane symbol that signifies the presence of an airport in the area as Yobe State is the only State with Cargo International Airport in the northeastern part of Nigeria and is located along the Gashua road.

3. Gujba Road Roundabout Modern design featuring the 8,500-year-old Dufuna Canoa located in the Dufuna Forest, Fune Local Government Area.

4. Maiduguri Road Roundabout Modern style with a picture of a slush which indicates the abundance of milk, livestock and grazing across the state.

This will definitely highlight the state as a tourist destination which will have a great impact on strengthening the economy of Yobe state and improving the confidence of investors to invest directly in Yobe state.

Governor Buni has created a history that will not be erased in the hearts of the good people of Yobe state, the pictures attached is the sketch of the work.

Mal. Ibrahim M Nura
Special Assistant on information and communication to the executive chairman of Potiskum Local Government area.
