Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, has brought a lasting solution to one of Potiskum’s biggest challenges with the construction of Africa’s largest and most modern trailer park—a landmark project that reflects his administration’s focus on fairness, progress, and people’s welfare.
For decades, Potiskum, known as the transport hub of Northern Nigeria, struggled with trailer congestion, road hazards, and poor parking conditions. Governor Buni’s administration stepped in with a bold and practical response—a world-class trailer park built to restore order, safety, and opportunity in the area.
The new facility, built to global standards, provides wide parking spaces, rest areas, mosques, workshops, restaurants, and security posts. It can change and improve the traffic flow, create jobs, and open new doors for local businesses.
Governor Buni said the project goes beyond infrastructure—it represents his government’s belief in equal development across all communities in Yobe State.
“Every community deserves to grow,” the Governor said. “Potiskum is vital to our state’s economy, and this project is part of our commitment to support its people and strengthen their livelihoods.”
Residents and transport workers have welcomed the project, describing it as a major relief after years of difficulty caused by unregulated trailer movement. The park has not only improved road safety but has also made Potiskum cleaner and more organized.
Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s promise to continue delivering projects that directly improve lives and promote inclusive growth.
