Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni (CON) has advanced his mission to protect vulnerable citizens through the strengthening of two critical healthcare interventions—the Yobe Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (YODMA) and the Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (YEMABUS).
YODMA ensures that essential medicines are distributed monthly to primary healthcare facilities in every Local Government Area; this guarantees uninterrupted access to basic and lifesaving drugs, especially for rural families who depend heavily on public facilities.
Working hand-in-hand with this supply system, YEMABUS offers free emergency evacuation services to critically ill patients; the rescue buses stationed across the state respond rapidly to distress calls, transporting patients to the nearest hospital without delay or financial worry.
These coordinated services have drastically reduced avoidable deaths among pregnant women, newborn babies, accident victims, and indigent households. Once admitted, vulnerable emergency patients receive up to 48 hours of free treatment—a crucial intervention that stabilizes their conditions before full medical management continues.
Commissioner for Health Dr. Gana Lawan Muhammad applauded the initiative as proof of Governor Buni’s strong commitment to human capital development and noted that improved drug logistics and reinforced emergency response are restoring public confidence in government healthcare systems.
Malam Auwal Alhaji Musa further assured that strict accountability measures ensure drugs reach the intended facilities on schedule, preventing shortages and ensuring smooth service delivery across the state.
Verified field monitoring reports continue to show fully stocked centers and active emergency rescue operations—clear evidence that the system is working and saving lives daily.
Gov. Buni’s leadership is now widely recognized for placing people’s health at the center of governance. With YODMA and YEMABUS running effectively, Yobe State has made emergency healthcare faster, fairer, and accessible to all, ensuring no life is lost due to distance or financial hardship.
