Gov. Buni approves N3.98 billion for the completion of Potiskum Local Government Area's modern market

The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni FCIA CON COMN, has approved over N3.98 billion for the completion of the modern market in Potiskum Local Government Area.
The governor approved the additional funds for the completion of the Potiskum modern market yesterday, 30th July, 2025, during the Executive Council meeting chaired by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, at the Yobe State Government House, Damaturu.
The governor laid the foundation stone for the construction of the modern market in his bid to revive the economy, improve income generation, provide jobs to the people of Yobe State, and improve the livelihood of traders and investors.
The market is in the final stages of completion and is expected to be completed this year. It will provide shelter to thousands of traders within and outside the Potiskum Local Government Area, improve trade, and revive its value while creating thousands of jobs for the community.
Potiskum Local Government Area is the commercial hub of Yobe State, where it is prominent in the growth of business, agriculture, and other self-reliance.
The creation of this modern market will help boost the economy of the local government and improve the quality of business in the local government area.
The governor has pledged to fulfill his promise to provide a quality market for the people of the local government area.
