I'm sin, I'm dust, I'm man,
I heard the crack of dawn,
Leaving blank a space, a hole,
Empathy is my antonym,
Cooped in a world of rime,
Was colder than cold,
My dwelling no merry dressing,
I scoffed at Praise, mocked Salvation,
Just a stab, stab through,
The splash, the thrash,
Hatched a new me,
Churlish, stony,
Broken, thrust beyond reach,
I see me, a new light,
No doubt, no count,
Tempting the Creator ,
Prayers left unsaid, unuttered,
No burden to share.
The shards cradled like a new born,
No knowledge of a better way,
Allowed, though many tried and tried,
Misconception here and there,
A law to myself, a god also,
A greater good, a greater purpose, no
I plundered, spoiled, took,
My way was right,
Every, every should bow.
Elusive feeling, what is it?
Peace, peace cried the voice
I know my right, I know my way,
Speak in a voice I know,
I am no leader, no pacesetter,
My rite was stolen,
I kicked at hope, rebuffed authority,
Still peace cried the voice,
Let me go, let me be,
For a while to the other side,
For sorrow, for shame,
Mind in shackles, imprisoned by self,
With dawn a far cry,
No spot, no sight,
Then delusion no more,
For I found my place, Home.
