The good people of Garin Abe Potiskum LGA have commended the executive chairman of Potiskum local government area, Hon. Salisu Muktari, for providing them with a solar-powered borehole.
Noting that this is the first time that a politician or political leader has visited their area to look into the problems that have plagued them and come up with solutions, they have highly appreciated the good contribution made by the chairman.
They also stated that they have been struggling with water problems for a long time, which has caused them to set back a lot in the area, and they have complained to many politicians, but they have not seen any change until God brought them Hon. Salisu Muktari, as he brought them a way to get clean and abundant water.
"We were sitting here when the executive chairman of Potiskum LGA, Hon. Salisu Muktari, paid an unscheduled visit to this town; we saw him unexpectedly, and he asked us what is the biggest problem in our area, we also told him that we need good and clean water more than anything else at this time.
"He told us that he will provide a large, modern borehole that's using solar-powered energy, which will provide us with clean and abundant water 25/7 of the week.
"The biggest thing is that after this promise, it did not take time, also we didn't consult or remind him again; we just saw the local government representatives came and started the work of providing this borehole, which has now solved all kinds of water problems we are facing in this area." The communities said that they are proud with the leadership of Hon. Salisu Muktari for the way he stood and committed to ensuring that they got a good governance system in their areas, especially in matters related to health, agriculture and other daily aspects.
