I've been meaning to watch this movie since I saw the trailer. It was worth the wait. It's a high stakes action movie peppered with betrayal, terrorism, family drama, political intrigues, international relations and much more
Viola Davis plays American President Danielle Sutton whose relationship with her belligerent teenage daughter, Serena (Marsai Martin) creates unneeded family drama. Serena's evasion of the secret service to go drinking causes her mother embarrassment. As a result, it is decided that the entire family will attend the G20 summit being hosted by South Africa.
But, trouble comes knocking when a group of mercenaries led by their leader Edward Rutledge take over the venue and hold the world leaders hostage. Their nefarious agenda will cripple the world economy and global financial markets while netting a hefty pay day.
The President and her secret service detail along with 3 others sneak away and formulate plans to rescue the hostages. They must also contend with traitors in their midst as well as unfortunate casualties.
This is a great movie for lovers of action, political drama, international politicking and all round badassery
