I have a friend but not really
He loves me
Or maybe not

He laughs with me
I'm sure he does
But is that mockery I hear undertone

He compliments me
I'm sure he does
But why is it riddled with ridicule

He applauds me
I'm sure he does
But why does it ring with disdain

I have a friend
I'm sure I do
Or maybe I don't
