Embroidery is just drawing with thread. Except the undo button is a seam ripper and forty-five minutes of your life.
This wildflower hoop has about four thousand stitches in it. French knots for the tiny flowers. Satin stitch for the leaves. A long-and-short stitch blend on the petals that took three attempts because I kept choosing the wrong shade of coral.
The right shade of coral, by the way, is the fourth one you try. Always.

lol the seam ripper = undo button hit way too hard. i have a whole collection of 'practice' pieces that are just me rage-ripping out french knots i swore were perfect at 11pm. also... fourth shade of coral is real. why is coral specifically the color that lies to you in the skein every time?? this looks gorgeous btw, totally worth the 45 mins. 12 days ago
