How my passion of becoming a journalist supercedes my passion of becoming a teacher:
I 'm a kind of person who always wants to educate people and contribute positively to the development of my area and my country at large. I wanted to become a teacher, who always educates students and changes their behaviours for better life. With the aforementioned interest, I began to obtained Nigeria certificate in education, where I studied social studies. I was able to proceed to university where I studied Education and Social Studies at degree level, all for the dream of becoming a teacher who will be equipped with the skill to pursue my dream.
How I changed my mind;
In recent times, I discover that it's not only by teaching profession that I can change ones behaviour,life or habits. Its known today that journalism profession have bigger opportunity to achieve the like of my dream morethan in teaching profession. With coming of social media, content creation and virtual technology, an individual can do more and forge ahead. I have realise that in terms of advocacy, campaign for good governance and public enlightenment, the journalists are having more opportunity to contribute positively to the development of their society morethan the rest. Journalists always partaking in selfless services in today's world. They are working day and night to uncorver stories of crisis, conflict, human trafficing, food insecurity, climate issues, inequality, health challenges etc.
A teacher can only interact with his or her students, while a journalist usually interacting with the public. One can not measure the extent of where journalist's message will be going, due to the advent of social media platforms and other technological inventions that all help journalists to reach vast number of audience.
I have passion on many aspects in journalism. I like to be good at storytelling, Reporting, Writing and become a columnist, and I like content creation,especially on niches that are related to socio-cultural and socio-political issues. I really like to be a good journalist.
