The Cries Of The Ogbáànje.
My mournful mother,
From the window of the sky, I peeped my eyes,
Feeding my innocent eyes on your tragedies.
I saw your uncontrollable teardrops
Falling down your cheeks like downpour,
I saw you tore your aso ebí
Like a fresh-mad man.
When you heard I had gone back
You cried out loud and barked,
Like a trapped dog's wail.
You rolled all over the dusty ground
And you breathed in, the uprising dust.
I wish, like my mates wished, not to leave you
But fate and destiny kept winning,
Qur'an,Bible even the Ògún tried to hold me back
But fate clinged on my neck like tree’s bark.
My mournful mother,
I wish I could wipe your tears with my palm,
But my spirit would not allow,
Let me be, and I’ll never come again,
To rekindle the excruciating pain.
