It's alarming to see how several young people with political affiliations today are afraid to speak the truth and stand up against injustice, all because they fear losing political favors. I've repeatedly received messages telling me to stay away from political discussions, which I've obliged to, but the latest message was downright disrespectful. As someone who has never compromised my values to sycophancy and cowardice, I'm compelled to ask: what happened to accountability and constructive criticism? Why is everyone turning a blind eye and acting selfishly for personal gain? It's appalling and proves that this country still has a long way to go. Being selfish and blind to the truth seems to be a surefire path to success, so I don't blame anyone. To me, diplomacy has become a form of political blackmail.
