Destination wedding. Population: forty-two.
They flew their closest people to a beach in Zanzibar and said the guest list is the people we would call if the world was ending. Forty-two people made the cut.
The ceremony was on the sand. No shoes. No aisle. Just a circle of the humans who mattered most, standing around two people who had decided that forever starts better with your toes in warm water.
The officiant was the groom's uncle, who got ordained online specifically for this. His sermon was seven minutes. He cried for five of them.
Small weddings are not less. They are more. More of the people who matter. More of the moments that count. More of the feeling that everyone in this room chose to be here.
