The night came so early
No dawn as he slept
A dusk during the day
A rest so divine.

The earthly struggle came to an end
No worries, no fear of the unknown
Just an unperturbed sleep
As he lay down still like a log of wood.

Life! Life!! Life!!!
A world of vanity
All it's toiling and sweat swept away like dust
What will be the account at the end of the journey?

A journey which ended in silence
Death's grip has swayed life out of him
A life to be remembered
Till we meet at the resurrection morning.
