Dear old lover,
How many poems I shall write I wonder,
How many days until I see you again if at all I wonder,
How many more sleepless nights I shall endure is a mystery,
How many more letters I shall have to write and burn
Your gaze, your touch,
Your smile, the sound of your voice,
Your love, my love,
How much loneliness need I harbor I wonder,
How much more of this old love shall I yearn,
How much longer I shall have to endure I wonder
Your heart, I mean mine that you own screams desperation,
It screams your name old lover,
How long this shall go on I wonder,
I'm worn out, one last time I promise you old lover
I hear you won your war,
I hear you ask about me,
I hear you visit my dreams one too many times,
I hear you paint much better now,
I hear you're still in the city,
I hear so much, I hear your laugh all the time,
I'm thirsty old lover, and it's not me it's you,
Yet it is I that the memories of what once was haunt and taunt.
