DAY 30 - REFLECTIONS
This month has been full of so many learnings. I have learned, Unlearned and Relearned so many things about The Yoruba Culture and the African Heritage, all thanks to @Nircle for bringing up this initiative called #MyNircleFeeds and #NircleFeed Challenge.
This month has made me realized
that my culture is a vital part of my identity and that it shapes my values, beliefs, and interactions with others. I achieved a deeper understanding of my cultural traditions and customs, which has helped me connect more with few persons I haven't been relating well with. An outstanding example would be Grandpa. This month, I have asked him questions and of course, I have gotten beautiful responses - they get spewed out from smiling lips.
Specifically, concerning Nigerian heritage, I have learned about the Nok culture and especially their terracotta arts.I learned about the origin of the Nok people, their place of abode in Nigeria, a bit of their tradition, and of course the terracota values. This has had a profound impact on my brain as i have learned more history. The surprising part is, this happened outside the four walls of my classroom. Once again, thanks to this #NircleFeeds et #MyNircleFeeds challenge authored by @Nircle.
I sincerely bless the day I found this platform. I have learned and I can say it boldly that I have become a better person. Just this Month, I have learned discipline and perseverance.. they are the crux of success.
Moving forward, I aim to continue exploring and celebrating my cultural heritage, and to share it with others in meaningful ways. By doing so, I hope to strengthen my connection to my community and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse society.
Well, just like I used to say, in the words of my Role Model (The Martin Beck Nworah), "Till we get to the promised land, I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race".
Cheers to Infinity and Beyond 🥂
