Day 24: African Proverbs

Embedded in the roots of the African culture are fountain of ancient wisdom called Proverbs. These deep but simple words sternly reproof, proffer solutions, guidance and instruction for effective living.

Here's one poem from the Igbo people from Eastern Nigeria.

"A man whose house is on fire, does not chase after rats."

Sounds simple but when looked upon with an open mind, you'd realise those words expressly suggest proper organization of priorities. It also calls for Lazer-piercing focus.
