A Day I Won't Forget: A Hurried Keke Ride and a Lesson of Kindness..
I'm still thankful thinking about it... That day I was running terribly late for a crucial quiz, and my anxiety was through the roof. You know that kind of course - the one where the exam is uncertain, and the only way to boost your marks is by acing the quiz.
As I sprinted down the streets of Ifite Awka, a Keke Napep driver pulled up beside me, and with a warm smile, offered me a lift. I hesitated for a moment, but his kindness was infectious, and I gratefully accepted.
As we sped towards my destination, a woman sitting opposite me noticed my distress. She asked if I was okay, and I explained my situation. Her listening ear and words of encouragement calmed my nerves, reminding me that help can come from unexpected places.
But the most astonishing moment came when we arrived at my stop. The woman reached into her purse and paid my fare, saying, "You focus on your quiz, dear. We're all rooting for you." Tears of gratitude welled up in my eyes as I thanked her and rushed to class.
Even now, I'm filled with gratitude for that stranger's kindness. It was a poignant reminder that we're all in this together, and that kindness can transform lives in an instant.
