DAY 05/10 - THE PEACE I PRAY FOR

I long for a moment
When tranquility takes root in my heart
Where kindness flows through my veins
And never dares to part.
Where unity is the thread stitched into garments we wear
And justice so loud that we all stop to hear.
When harmony becomes the smile on every face
And compassion walks at humanity's pace.

Where our feet don’t tremble but stand firm so bold
In safe spaces where stories of fear are no longer told.
Where comfort lives even in the heart of storms
And bombs no longer light the sky
Only peace, a quiet flame that never dies.
Where peace becomes a language spoken clear,
Truth never tears
And black and white stand together so near.

Where heavy sighs no longer haunt the night
And every flag stands tall in dignity and light.
Where we no longer fight just to claim what’s fair and right
Because fairness lives already there.
Where “please,” “sorry” and “thank you”
Are never far from our tongue.
Where laughter echoes even in silence
And joy is forever dear.

Where my neighbor sees my soul before my scars
Where cries are no longer heard under the rubble and hostages become a thing of the past.
Where help arrives even before my tears ever touch the floor.
Where provocation drowns in the sea of forgiveness
And hatred fades in the light of tenderness.
Where ease finds our faces after trials pass
And mercy, empathy and joy feel like the very air we breathe at last.

And if you're reading this now…
I’m sending you photons of light and waves of peace
For peace begins with me and you.
