... The transformation and modernisation of Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, Governor Buni has signed the contract for the construction of a modern motor park.


The executive governor of Yobe State, H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON COMN, has signed the contract agreement for the construction of the largest and most modern motor park in Damaturu, the capital city of Yobe State.

In line with the Governor’s drive to transform the state capital from an old state capital to a new state capital with infrastructure, modern buildings, and efficient transportation systems that will benefit the good people of the state.

The transformation of Damaturu City will not only help in the improvement and development of the city but will also improve its financial resources and attract investors from all over the world to revitalise the state and further ensure the sustainable development that the state has achieved under Governor Buni.

The governor has awarded the contract for the construction of the modern station (motor park) to a company called SAMSUD CONSTRUCTION NIG. LIMITED, which was awarded a contract to complete in 12 months at a cost of N6.1 billion at Potiskum Road in Damaturu LGA.

The station comprises an admin block, a modern loading and uploading shed, a drivers lounge/cargo handling, a hospital, a security officers’ office, and a waiters’ office.

The contract was signed on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, with a contract agreement to be completed in the next 12 months.
