Cry me a river
And I will gladly swim in it
For your tears are like a recompense for my many years of torment

Cry me a river
And I shall gladly drink to quench this dire thirst
For your tears are like dew drop for my parched soul

Cry me a river
That I may dance as I water my crops
For your tears will now grow the love your refused to nurture

Cry me a river
That I may know that karma took sides with me
But even your tears burn a hole in my heart
