The executive chairman of the Potiskum local government area Hon. Salisu Muktari confirmed that creating a good system for managing and developing business activities is one of his main tasks in Potiskum local government area.
The Chairman explained that in response to the rumours that are circulating in the town that the leadership of the local government under his watch has decided to stop and exit the business of wood across the local government due to the threat of environmental pollution.
"It is a lie, and it is not true, and we will not support such attempts that may cause discord between us and our people.
"Almost all traders and markets are the community; under our markets, many communities find ways to live and develop the economy of our local government.
"If we prohibit the trade of wood for thousands of people who are consuming food under it, what we can give them as a replacement.? under the trade of wood, thousands of people in the local government get a better way to live from the labourers, who bring it and the sellers of the wood.
"The sellers of the wood are reducing idleness and providing employment. How can we prevent them from running their business after they are encouraging the government to fight idleness." Hon. Salisu Muktari confirmed
The chairman has created very effective policies that will help in the development of business activities and is known for his determination to solve business and social problems in order to provide many development opportunities for the businessmen of the local government.
