A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned a suit filed by the Senator representing Kogi central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to March 25, 2025.
Natasha had approached the court seeking an order restraining the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges from investigating her.
At the court session today, counsel for the first, second, and third defendants informed the court they were yet to be served with processes while Akpoti-Uduaghan’s counsel, Michael Numa insisted all parties have been served.
Subsequently, counsel to the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, who is the third defendant, Kehinde Ogunwumiju, prayed the court for an adjournment for all processes to be harmonised.
The presiding judge, Obiora Egwatu, in his ruling adjourned the matter to March 25 and ordered that all relevant processes be served on parties before the date.
Meanwhile, speaking to journalists after court proceedings, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Peter Nwaebonyi said it is strange for the court to interfere in the affairs of the senate.
