DAY 10 - NIGERIAN DISHES YOU CAN'T RESIST
📍Nigeria
Who is excited to see some mouth-watering dishes from Nigeria?
From the North to the south, from the East to the West, Indeed Nigerian dishes are the best.
SOUTHWEST
What can beat Amala, gbegiri and ewedu-elegusi soup with variety of meat and "Ponmo" from the Yorubas? Maybe it's counterpart, Ìyàn and Efo Elegusi ( Pounded Yam and melon soup)! That is why the Yorubas would often say, " Ọmọ rẹ̀ bí ìyàn" - A good child like the Pounded yam. Many other food are common with the Yorubas but Àmala and Iyán beats the game anywhere.
SOUTH EAST
Oh divine Egusi soup of the Igbos! Or is it Ofe Oha? Would you rather prefer Ofe Onugbo ( Bitter leaf Soup), Ofe Nsala (Catfish Soup) or the Mighty Ofe Akwụ (Palm nut Soup)? The list is endless. When it comes to soups, respect the Igbos.
SOUTH SOUTH
Edikaikong! From the name you know you're unto something savoury. Or shall we call the rich Afang soup, both peculiar with the Efiks and Ibibios. Banga Soup of the Deltans is another bang! Similar to Ofe Akwụ, fear the name as you fear the word Bang. It's synonym to delicious.
NORTH
When you see the NORTH, you see a large are filled with different greof people with cultural differences and Amazing cuisines. The list of Comestibles is endless and palatable too. Have you heard of Koko and Kosai, Danwake, Gurasa and Kuli, Tuwo shinkafa, Masa, Fura da Nono, Funkaso and the Celebrity meals - Suya and Kilishi. My special tributes goes to Okoho and Atyever soups of the Benue people.
Nigeria is a land of great food and nutritious cuisines. With soups, swallows, and the celebrity food, Party Jollof Rice, your tummy can never go wrong.
