The Christian Rights for Social Justice & Transparency in Africa (CHRIST-AFRICA) has strongly criticized the governors of Bauchi, Katsina, Kebbi, and Kano states for their decision to send schoolchildren home to observe Ramadan. The civil rights movement argues that Nigeria, as a multi-religious and secular nation, should not permit certain states to deprive pupils of their fundamental right to education based on religious considerations.

In a statement, CHRIST-AFRICA emphasized that such actions set a dangerous precedent, undermining the constitutional rights of Nigerian children to uninterrupted education. The organization, which is dedicated to advocating for Christian rights and fighting against religious persecution in Africa, condemned what it described as "state-backed discrimination against schoolchildren."

"This decision not only denies pupils their right to education but also reinforces systemic biases that contradict Nigeria’s commitment to religious inclusivity," the statement read.

CHRIST-AFRICA called on the federal government and relevant authorities to intervene, ensuring that policies implemented at the state level do not violate constitutional rights. The group reaffirmed its commitment to defending the rights of Christians and promoting social justice across the African continent.
