CHRIST-AFRICA CONDEMNS FULANI TERRORISTS’ MASSACRE IN BENUE, DEMANDS URGENT ACTION FROM GOVERNMENT

The Christian Right for Social-Justice and Transparency in Africa (CHRIST-AFRICA) under the leadership of its Executive Director, Comrade Dave Jonathan Boldmind, vehemently condemns the barbaric and senseless massacre of innocent civilians in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria.

In the dark hours between June 13 and 14, 2025, no fewer than 200 lives comprising the aged, women, children, and youth were brutally slaughtered by Fulani terrorists in an unprovoked, coordinated attack on a peaceful rural Christian community. These heinous acts are not only reprehensible but are clear indicators of a deep-seated agenda of land-grabbing and ethnic cleansing targeted at indigenous populations in the Middle Belt.

CHRIST-AFRICA boldly calls out these criminal elements masquerading as herders but operating with the motives of conquest, terror, and forced displacement. These atrocities can no longer be dismissed as "farmer-herder clashes" but must be recognized as calculated acts of terrorism and genocide against Christian communities.

We call on the Benue State Government and, indeed, all state governments across Nigeria's Middle Belt region, to wake up to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property. The blood of our people cries out from the land! Government must immediately mobilize all lawful security apparatus to secure affected communities, bring the perpetrators to justice, and halt the continuous invasion of ancestral lands.

We also urge the Federal Government, the National Assembly, and international human rights bodies to treat these acts of terror as crimes against humanity and ensure justice is served.

The time to act is now. Enough of the bloodshed. Enough of the silence. Enough of the injustice.
