Potiskum Local Government has acquired a modern market of international standard under the administration of Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, to ensure the local government’s status as a business hub across Yobe State.
Potiskum Local Government is the business hub of Yobe State and the local government that has surpassed all other local governments in terms of population growth, business development, and effective management.
Governor Buni handed over the construction of the modern market to ADAF BML Nig. Ltd., following delays in the completion of the project by the previous contractor. The construction of the market is now in the final stages of completion, with good-quality roads being laid and in good order.
ADAF BML Nig. Ltd. is also continuing to improve the market performance and is currently providing electricity and laying good and effective roads, with the work progressing smoothly and efficiently.
The governor has created new and efficient modern markets in Nguru, Gashua, Damaturu, Geidam, Ngalda, Yunusari, and that of Machina town as the foundation stones of which were laid two weeks ago following the approval of the government at the recent Council Meeting.
The Modern markets will greatly help to reduce unemployment, increase tax revenue for the state, and promote business activities and public welfare.
Potiskum Local Government Area being a local government with abundant and prosperous business opportunities, the creation of modern markets will attract investors from different parts of Nigeria and the world at large.
