For decades, the Fika–Maluri road stood as a symbol of negle—a rugged and forgotten terrain that successive administrations avoided. Today, that story has changed. Under the focused and determined leadership of Gov. Mai Mala Buni, the long-abandoned road has finally come to life, bringing relief and renewed hope to the people.
Governor Buni came, saw, and conquered; his administration has rewritten history by completing one of the most challenging infrastructure projects in Yobe State, turning isolation into connection and hardship into opportunity.
The construction of the Fika–Maluri road has made life easier for communities that depend heavily on agriculture; with the harvest season ongoing, farmers can now transport their produce, goods, and other essentials to markets and neighboring towns with unprecedented ease.
“Promise made, promise kept,” said Mamman Mohammed, the governor’s director-general of press and media affairs, in a statement posted on his official Facebook page.
“This project, among many others, brings great relief to our agrarian communities and proves that Governor Buni’s administration is committed to improving lives.”
The road stands as a symbol of transformation—proof that when leadership meets purpose, even the most difficult terrains can be conquered; it connects people, opens markets, and strengthens the bond between government and the governed.
Indeed, Buni is working—and Yobe is moving!
