Finally I finished this book.Telegraph avenue by Michael ChabonOh I can't express its full splendour. Its like a magician fooling you that a trick is simple, and yet by the time it ends, you realise its grand scope. Laced with dog bones of linguistic brilliance that capture your attention on the small picture, yet with a complete story of humanity. It explores themes of Tribe, Gentrification, Artistry, Music, Marriage, Parenthood, Masculinity, Femininity, Legacy, Sexuality, Hopefulness, Failure, Good vs Evil, Friendship, Racism etcetera in a way that no other book I've read even comes close to.And the aforementioned Linguistic brilliance... It is like watching the Simone Biles of English effortlessly do 15,back, then 9.35 front and 1/infinity side somersaults and land perfectly with a confident smile in less than 5 seconds. Also thanks to the author for an in depth and local tour of Oakland and Berkeley California. Forever shall I remember,Archy Stallings,Nat Jaffe,Gwen Shanks (Stallings),Aviva Roth Jaffe,Luther Stallings, Valletta Moore, Julie Jaffe,Titus Joyner (Stallings), Cochise Jones, 58, The Blimp, Gibson Goode andSensei Jew of the Bruce Lee martial arts institute.
