Located in Lang’ata, Nairobi, Bomas of Kenya is a cultural center established in 1971 by the Government of Kenya to preserve, maintain, and promote the rich and diverse cultural values of various ethnic groups of Kenya.
The term "Bomas" is derived from the Swahili word boma, meaning "homestead." The center features over 23 meticulously crafted homesteads representing Kenya's diverse ethnic communities. Each homestead is constructed using traditional materials and techniques, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the architectural styles and cultural practices of different tribes.
🎭 Cultural Performances

With a repertoire of over 50 traditional dances from various ethnic groups, the performances are brought to life by the renowned Bomas Harambee Dancers. These shows feature live percussion, string, and wind instruments, along with vibrant costumes, providing an immersive cultural experience.
🍽️ Dining and Events
Visitors can indulge in traditional Kenyan cuisine at the on-site restaurant, which offers a variety of local dishes. Additionally, Bomas of Kenya hosts various events, including conferences, exhibitions, and private functions, all set within a culturally rich environment.
