It was spring, just the perfect time for a tingle in her stomach. The trees were fresh green and sprouting fruits, there shade were wide and cozy. The boy she'd noticed in math class had asked her to meet, under a mango tree far from the blocks of classrooms. She knew what he wanted to say, the tall, handsome head boy was going to ask her out. She jogged, skipped and finally walked calmly as she got closer to the tree. She thought it was romantic to be asked out under a shade, tomorrow, she'd tell her friends of this enchanting moment.
He arrived few minutes later, hands tucked in pockets, a big grin and bright eyes. She waved and looked down shyly, trying not to seem too excited. But he got the cue and walked up to her.
"Ruth," he called. She stood closed to the tree trunk, basking in the sound of her name.
"You wanted to talk." her voice filled with impatient and eagerness.
He moved closer and closer until she had to step back, the knot in her stomach tightened. Was he going to kiss her? She thought excitedly
"You are beautiful" he took her hand and gave it a light squeeze. That's it!, her back rested slowly against the tree trunk, her heart pounding so loud that she thought he could hear it.
He lean in, "since last summer, you've been on my mind, in my heart actually."
She felt a sting, she shivered this time it wasn't the boy that caused it, something had bit her. She jerked as she felt another sting and then another. The boy was saying something she couldn't make out anymore, she felt more stings and this time she pulled her hand from him and hurriedly touched her back.
Ants!
"What's going on?, did I say something wrong?" he asked paled with fright. The idiot had no idea she thought. She started squirming and broke into a run, she could feel the stings in her brain.

So much for an enchanting moment.
