Biden Declares National Mourning as Former President Jimmy Carter Lies In State at US Capitol

The body of Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president who died last month will lie in state at the Capitol for two days, during which period the public can come to pay their respects.
His body arrived at the snow-covered US Capitol, where it will remain until today, after a full day of ceremonious travel that began in his native Georgia.
Members of the public will afterwards be able to come view Carter's casket in the Chamber.
President Joe Biden will deliver a eulogy at Carter's state funeral at the National Cathedral, before the former president's body will be returned to Georgia and buried alongside his wife Rosalynn.
Biden has declared today a national day of mourning, with federal government offices to be closed for the day.
