Bend or Break, Bow or Burn

He that bends attracts humility
When he suspends his nobility
Not that he's forgotten his ability
Rather he simply affirms his gentility

See those trees whose height defies the storm
Will soon break for ignoring the norm
For in the law of humility and for your sake
It is better to bend than break

Your knees should not be stiff to bend
Before Him whose word made the earth
For even in every word He sends
He detests the proud with all His breath

'Do I bend or break it?' asks the fishmonger
I'd rather break or bend it', retorts the welder
'Bend or I'll break you!' shouts the master
'Bend or break', advises your Maker

Bend in submission to His will
For no one can face Him when He drills
Never underrate the sea when it's still
Its turbulence will send you a thousand shrills

They that bow need not burn
They burn that refused to bow
Bow to Him in reverence and piety
And follow not the dictates of the society

For why would you be a replica of history?
The tales of renegades should make you sorry
He that rejects His overtures tells no story
Their end is scary and should make you worry

The recalcitrant Pharaoh who snubbed His entreaty
Power-drunk Nebuchadnezzar who challenged His authority
Bloodthirsty Herod who rejected His mandate
Are renegades who rejected Him and lay prostrate

That thou will understand my message
To whip you into the line of humility
And save you from spiritual liability
Obey and escape the wrath of His visage
