BEING A SLAVE

When the blacks become the talk,
Slave trade becomes the shade,
Forgetting that slavery is a mentality of captivity.
So it's lack of physicality doesn't limit the reality.
Therefore, the possibility or severity of our enslavement
Is dependent on the flexibility of our mindset.
Being a slave is based on an obsession
Not an individual's skin pigmentation.
Sadly today, people are enslaved insidiously
Not as in the past where it was forcefully
It has become a habitual conditioning called child training
Starting off to create a standard but then leads to a psychological hazard
If a child is trained in perfectionism rather than pragmatism,
Having to uphold beauty standards,
A certain level of financial affluence,
And to attain a high social status.
She'll be powered by the fear of failure and a crave for triumph
She'll be fuelled by a desire for more
Oh how gradual she'd proceed from being a slave of fear and power,
To one of an insatiable hunger
Later in life, an identity formed by productivity gotten from conformity
Will be threatened by the reality of man's mortality
And a solution to this vision will be put to motion
Hence, the fecundity of an heir to this legacy
If this woman once a child,
Is to mother a child,
When she's been raised enthralled,
What is the possibility that he won't be enslaved in trepidation.
Modelled in an illusion of unending expectations
Or an addict in search of freedom from the strive to be perfect
So when next you want to hit me with the blade of slave trade,
Remember that a slave is drafted in by obsession not by skin pigmentation
