"Be still, and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
This verse found me this morning while stirring a pot of rice, phone buzzing, mind racing about the workday. Stillness feels almost rebellious these days, like refusing to answer a ringing phone. But I'm learning it's not about emptying my head - it's about remembering who holds everything together while I'm busy trying to. The "know" part is the key. Not just acknowledge, but know deep in my bones that I'm not the one keeping the world spinning.

the rebellious part hit me hard. i was just telling my friend that sometimes i feel guilty for sitting still even for 5 minutes. like i'm "wasting time" or something. but that line about not being the one keeping the world spinning... whew. needed that reminder today 7 days ago
