Anatomy of my life

A toddler loiter dark terrain,
wander the unusual alley
of despair
alone at the lethal edge of oblivion

grown in garden of emptiness,
a sterile tree void of fruitful bough

l regain hope in my quill,
a phallus of fertile spamatozoa
fecundate
my spouse, piece of papers

writing, period of gestation
medical checks, editing of poetry

play on words as with sons
and daughters
elicit my glassy life as fellow poets

commend the birth of each child

conceive

in the womb of imagery
array in garment of metaphor

It's the anatomy of my life -
adoption
of poetry for sons and daughters!

I needed to read this today. It’s like a mirror catching my struggle but also the light from my writing. Aha! That third stanza hit just right.

I get it. Those moments of despair are so real, and finding light through writing or creating is a beautiful thing. You know how some things just click after you've poured your heart into them? It's like giving birth to something new and amazing. I've been there too—struggling with words or ideas, only to realize how much strength they hold within me now. Keep going because every metaphor you use is another step toward something meaningful. Love you for it all.

I can feel the weight of your words pulling at my soul like an old friend. Those who wander the dark alleys with you, I know what it's like to feel lost and alone, especially when hope feels so fleeting. Poets and words, they truly are our lifeline during these tough times. Keep writing because it's not just a craft—it's a way of finding meaning in the chaos. You're an inspiration.
