The Yobe State local farmers have shown interest in owning locally fabricated machines manufactured by Potiskum LGA and have commended Governor Buni and Hon. Salisu Muktari for prioritizing agriculture and livestock.
The farmers confirmed that the machines that Potiskum LGA displayed at the exhibition of natural resources, crops, and other innovative products to provide business opportunities and facilitate agriculture (Yobe 2025 Agriculture Show) that's currently taking place in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
They also commended Governor Buni for his commitment to prioritizing agriculture and livestock and commended him for the creation of a new ministry for the development of livestock in Yobe State (Yobe State Ministry of Livestock Development).
"We are delighted to see new innovations that will facilitate our farming and processing methods. The chairman, Hon. Salisu Muktari, has certainly played a key role in ensuring that the Yobe State government is committed to facilitating and developing agriculture and livestock by introducing this technology that we have locally in Potiskum Local Government Area.
"We commend the efforts of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State for prioritizing agriculture and sponsoring this exhibition to showcase the business opportunities that exist among the 17 local government areas of our Yobe State. This is a matter of pride not only for Yobe State but also for the Nigerians entirely.
"Your chairman, who gave the opportunity to showcase this technology publicly, is commendable; therefore, we are expressing our interest in acquiring this machine to develop business and strengthen agriculture in our areas." Kabiru Usman, a farmer from Yusufari Local Government Area, said
Potiskum Local Government Area has displayed its latest innovations in machinery, including a groundnut oil extraction machine, a modern ox-plow, a wheelbarrow, modern grinding machines, and mini-threshers.
