Listen thou wall let me speak, hear
Difficult it is to say what I speak here
Like the river overflowing its banks
My heart is filled and so full that I sank

Cover me from the omniscient caregiver
Who wears the garb of a telepathic driver
Protect me from the contumacious ancestors
Who see every idea of mine as figments of detractors

For my heart is taken away from me
Now a board game where every finger thrives
My mind at the service of the powers that be
It's the mechanical engine that struts and strives

How is it that the young is seen as treacherous?
Why are his thoughts assumed as dangerous?
How come her attitude is depicted unreasonable?
Why is her dream another man's pain and disagreeable?

Grew up in the midst of those who knew it all
Who believe their bids and deeds are the best to call
Their passion and will your destiny to fulfil
Inveterate hearts of men sedated with personal will

Love broadcasting , love the glitz and glamour
Passionate about the tube, lighting, the camera and its humour
Dreamed of travelling the world and spreading its word
An ambition that shaped my thoughts with an unbreakable cord

But they shall not hear nor subscribe to my pain
'Thou shall work with men in white and with brain!
With the 'steth' dangling on your neck
Your hands tending the sick, giving life a peck

From the college thou shall return afterwards
Trained to treat and restore health in the wards
Standing and dining with men of status in the land
Bearing our name before kings and knights and brands'

Here I am reading the books odd and complicated
My goals and dreams swallowed and truncated
Learning and reading for the powers that grill
Against my desire, my passion, my will

But oh that you will understand my plight!
I'm a sheep in wolf's clothing, a ewe sent to the slaughter
My mind buried in another, feel like taking a flight
Wish I could be seen and cherished indeed like a daughter.
