A scar on my face—the memory,
building a house with our hands,
wearing suits and dresses made of dreams,
living in the imagination of wealth, success, and fame.
Basking in thoughts of becoming medical professionals,
nursing ambitions of being a nurse,
watering dreams of becoming a lawyer—
those were our rhyming songs for an unseen future.
The echoes of Aunt Oyoyo, Uncle's Oyoyo,
sounded like a daily prayer.
Playing under a shower of love, with no discrimination—
Roaming in laughter, our incomplete teeth
could not bear the weight.
We sat on the ground,
opening our mouths like whales swallowing fish,
echoing the booming sound of our laughter.
Burying our milk teeth,
waiting for the fairy godmother to return them.
Feet bare, leaving footprints in our hearts—
the marks of laughter, joy, happiness,
sadness, and togetherness.
Unforgettable memories,
like a mother who can't forget her labor day.
Swimming in thoughts of childhood,
drying in the unending laughter and joy.
Sleeping in a bedroom decorated with pictures,
painted with names, the fragrance of smiles,
music of laughter, a pillow of joy and happiness.
The lyrics of Aunt Oyoyo, Uncle Oyoyo
awaken the dead soul of happiness.
