Today, marks the fifth, 5th day of our adventure and tour around the African continent in a bid to explore eye-catching sights and mind blowing endowment in nature.
We decided to stop by to check the phenomenal Katsina Ala river. This river rises from the northeast of Bamenda, Cameroon and flows 200 miles northwest, crossing into eastern Nigeria just north of Gayama and passing the town of Katsina Ala before reaching the Benue river northeast of Abinsi.
The serenity around this river is mindblowing as it welcomes tourist, sightseeing, boating, play water sports.
Care to visit this beautiful environment, just come around with a camera, sun screen you'd have the best time of your life.
Our second stop-by is the famous jabi lake located in Abuja, Nigeria.
Jabi lake is a man-made lake. It was initially constructed to supply water to the residents of the Country's capital and soon became a notable sight for tourism.
Jabi lake is mostly quiet except when parties, concerts or shows are held on its banks. It is bordered on one side by a huge Mall, that has shops, cinema and restaurants.
There are many more rivers and lakes in Nigeria like the famous River Kaduna, Benue River and Niger River.
Interestingly aside these rivers being tourist attraction sites, some also serve as source of hydroelectric power supply.
Difference between Rivers and Lakes.
The main difference between a river and a lake lies in their movement and size:
=>> A river is a moving body of water that flows continuously in a particular direction, usually from a higher elevation to a lower one, and often empties into a larger water body like another river, a lake, or the sea. Rivers have a current, which means the water is always flowing and moving.
=>> A lake is a relatively still, enclosed body of water, typically surrounded by land. Lakes do not flow continuously like rivers; instead, they hold water in a basin. Lakes are usually larger and deeper than ponds, but they can vary greatly in size.
